FROM THE PRESIDENT...
THE COWSILLS are continuing to make an impact on the 90's music scene. In addition to having 3 new recordings available to the public, Bob Cowsill was interviewed by Creem magazine (yes, Creem, America's Only Rock 'N Roll Magazine!) for their May 1994 issue. The reporter who conducted the interview was very impressed by a Cowsills demo that he had heard.
As always, many thanks to you fan club members for your contributions to this issue of The Cowsill Connection.
Keep spreading the word and keep the faith!
Sincerely,
Marsha Jordan

COWSILLS' CHRISTMAS BENEFIT SHOW AT SUTTER JR. HIGH 12/11/93
Christmas always brings magic into the air. The smell of hot chocolate, hot cider, cinnamon, and peppermint. Add carols and THE COWSILLS, and you've just quadrupled the magic into a night of never-ending music.
I was once again thrilled to be able to attend another live Cowsill concert on December 11, 1993. I'm becoming an old hand at this! Each time I go, I'm seeing another part of the L.A. area. I got to be tour guide this time—my husband and daughter went with me. I enjoyed pointing out areas I had seen previously. My daughter got a kick out of the skyscrapers and lights we drove by. The big treat, however, was finally actually seeing and meeting in person the group of people I've so fondly talked about for so long.
THE COWSILLS gave the benefit concert at Sutter Jr. High School in Canoga Park for St. Bernadine's School where Bob's children attend. We got there quite early. I must have driven by Sutter Jr. High a dozen times before I finally decided I was at the right place. I'm glad we got there early because the auditorium filled up fast!
I anxiously waited for the concert to begin so my husband and daughter could finally hear the C's in person. The wait was worthwhile because I got to see Sue's newcomer, Miranda! She's a beautiful, healthy little girl! Such rosey, chubby cheeks!
Finally, the moment had come. THE COWSILLS opened the show by saying it was Sue's night. There was no doubt about that! The C's opened with "You Were On My Mind," followed by "Under The Gun," "We Can Fly," "Thinking Of
You", "What I Believe," "Be My Baby," "Indian Lake," "Crying," "Cross That Line," "I Be Low," and "Hair."
One word describes THE COWSILLS—breathtaking!!! They get better and better. Sue's voice is fabulous, and John, well, I'm not being partial (he's always been my favorite), but every time he sings "Crying," I almost die.
How blind can these record companies be? I'm not just talking about Sue and John - -ALL of them are extremely talented!
I was so mesmerized by how wonderful they sounded!
They even did their war whoops on "Indian Lake" (much to their dismay!), and during "Hair" Bob brought his and Mary Jo's daughters, Courtney and Marissa, up on stage to sing Sue's "and spaghetti" part. It was just the right note to take a break on!

During the break, I got the chance to talk to Sue and John and to get a closer look at Miranda, who did not like the speakers at all! It was really nice talking to them. I got to introduce my husband and daughter to them, finally. Now they can relate to who I'm talking about. My husband got a double treat because he also got to meet one of his favorite Bangles, Vicki Peterson. I don't think my daughter knew what to make of it all.
We took our seats for the second half, during which we heard "The Rain, the Park and Other Things," "Nowhere Man," "Far Away," "Helplessly Hoping," and a magical set of Christmas (real Christmas songs). I enjoyed seeing THE COWSILLS take out their song sheets to join in, mostly a cappella, on some of the best harmony I've ever heard. They even sang one of their own songs that Bob and Mary Jo wrote for Marissa called "Christmastime." They also dedicated the Christmas portion of the show to their mom and dad. I really enjoyed "What Child Is This," "Jolly Old St. Nicholas," and the Beach Boys' "Little St. Nick."
The night ended with THE COWSILLS inviting the school's 7th and 8th grades onto the stage to sing "Silent Night." It was definitely a wonderful evening! Again, THE COWSILLS
made my night worthwhile and very memorable! I hope it never stops!
