1990 SUMMER TOUR KICK OFF
On July 3, THE COWSILLS kicked off their 1990 summer tour at Zanzibar's and brought fireworks a day early to Boston, Massachusetts! People began forming a line at the door early in the evening in anticipation of the event that was about to take place inside, the likes of which hadn't happened in nearly two decades. When THE COWSILLS appeared on stage to perform a concert dedicated to their mother, the packed room was suddenly filled with that special musical magic which only they know how to bring to life. All those years of waiting for a reunion quickly faded away, only to be replaced with the great feeling that this was just the beginning of the good times to come.
The songs that Bob, Paul, John, and Susan performed with Cecil Duke, current bass player for the band, were a combination of the "good old days" and the brand new sounds. Standards like "The Rain, the Park and Other Things", "We Can Fly", "Indian Lake", and "Hair" brought back lots of fond memories for all. Susan even sang a line or two from "Ask the Children"! The best part of the show, however, was the introduction of the new Cowsills tunes such as "She Said to Me" (written by Bob and his wife Mary Jo and sung by Susan), "Sweet Magdelena" (written by Barry and sung by Bob), and "Some Good Years" (written by Bob and Mary Jo and sung by Bob). THE COWSILLS also performed a song entitled "Liverpool" (sung by Susan), which was previously recorded by the Bangles. Yesterday and today, THE COWSILLS certainly know how to put together the "right stuff" that will keep us listening throughout the next decade! (or even longer!)
The local patrons and the loyal family followers weren't the only ones present to catch a glimpse of the 1990 Cowsill clan. There to join in all of the fun were Richard Cowsill and his wife Susan; Lou Ann Cowsill, wife of Paul Cowsill; Mike Love and Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys; and John Stamos, of "Full House" fame, with friend and terrific performer in her own right, Paula Abdul. Acting as host for the evening was Barry Scott of WZLX-FM Radio in Boston. It was quite a festive occasion!
We realize that not everyone had the opportunity to make the trip to Boston, but don't worry. THE COWSILLS will be bringing
their phenomenal sound to cities all around the country, and a complete itinerary is being put together as we write. We promise
to get the word out to everyone as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, get in touch with your local DJ, contact your
favorite night spots, and spread the good news. THE COWSILLS are back in the '90's, and they're looking and sounding better
than ever!!!

THE COWSILLS APPEAR ON GOOD MORNING AMERICA
To the delight of fans nationwide, Bob, Paul, John, and Susan Cowsill appeared on ABC-TV's "Good Morning America" on June 29. THE COWSILLS' segment on the show was preceded by intermittent clips of footage from their performances on "Upbeat" in 1967 and "The Wonderful World of Pizzazz" in 1969, as well as a display of Cowsills albums.
In Joan Lunden's brief, but high-spirited, interview with THE COWSILLS, it was revealed that John Cowsill is given credit for their reunion. Also, Bob mentioned that Bill, Richard, and Barry will be touring with the group eventually. Each of THE COWSILLS wore a good luck charm (fashioned in the shape of a heart with wings) sent to them by their brother Bill, especially for the show. The Cowsill enthusiasm and great sense of humor were very evident in the down-to-earth personalities that we all love and remember.
In a stage setting reminiscent of the '60's, THE COWSILLS performed an awesome rendition of "Hair", their smash hit from 1969, which generated applause from every person on the set! Bob sang lead and played guitar; Paul played keyboard; John, drums; and Susan, looking adorable in a bright red and pink mini-dress and black tights, played tambourine. Cecil Duke accompanied them on bass guitar.
Let's all write to the producers of "Good Morning America" and tell them how very much we enjoyed THE COWSILLS and request another appearance by them in the near future!
THE COWSILLS VISIT NYC, RI AND BOSTON
The trip back East was action packed for Bob, Paul, John, and Susan Cowsill! Having remained in New York City following their very successful appearance on "Good Morning America", THE COWSILLS went "on the air" live with Bob Shannon at WCBS Radio on June 30. THE COWSILLS also taped interview segments with Cousin Brucie for his radio show "Cruisin' America", and they gave an interview to the Associated Press for upcoming release to 200 affiliates.
On July 2, THE COWSILLS took a day off and went "back home" to visit family and friends in Newport and Providence, Rhode Island.
From Rhode Island, THE COWSILLS traveled to Boston for their reunion show at Zanzibar's. While in town, THE COWSILLS were interviewed by Barry Scott on his WZLX-FM radio show, and they made a visit to a local morningT.V. show, "Good Day Boston".
