Cowsill Chronicle

2

FROM THE EDITOR

Hi!

My sincerest apologies are extended to each and every member of the club for not having a Chronicle out in June. However, we moved out of our quarters on Sunset Boulevard, and obtained a Post Office Box 69420. But more about that in the MR. POSTMAN column. We have also had a reorginazation of the club staff. However, I'm still the President and Editor of the Chronicle and Chrystal is still our great Vice-President.

I would like to thank everyone who has written in to compliment our quick service on their orders. I should also like to tell you that everything you order takes between a week to 10 days to get to you, depending on where you live. As long as we're on orders, I may as well mention prices of the Club. Membership in the COWSILLS CLUB costs $2.00 ($1.50 for initiation fee and $1.00 for your yearly dues.) Any of you who joined the Club around this time last year should send in your old membership card along with $1 for your 1971 dues. Send this to me, Diane Warner, MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL, P.O. Box 69420, Los Angeles, California 90069. We will then issue you a new membership card. There is more about the Club in the MR. POSTMAN column. Posters are $1 each. Those should be ordered, wherever possible, through the poster order blanks that you received when you became a member. If you never got an order blank or have already used one and wish another one, send your request to the address in the MR. POSTMAN column. Souvenir books of the Cowsills with Color pictures galore and biographies written by the Cowsills themselves cost $2.00 each ($1.50 for the book itself and 50 cemts for postage and handling).

I wanted to thank everyone who went to the trouble and expense of having address labels printed up with saying telling us how great they thought the Cowsills were. We printed as many names of those people as we could in the COWSILL SPECIAL LUV TO column along with others.

Again, we have gotten requests to start local Cowsills Fan Clubs. For now we must have things centralized in L.A. However, we are keeping the names of people who express interest in starting a Fan Club regionally and when the time comes to start branching out, these people will be the first to know. We would like to let you in on a little secret, though. There is a Cowsill Fan Club in Japan! Believe it? Well it is rung by a gal named Nippon Gramophone.

In the last issue of the Chronicle, Chris Rotella of California asked how to get a Cowsills single. They reply was to send $1.25 to the Club. Well, we contacted MGM but we were informed that none were available. Therefore, it is no long possible to obtain singles through the Club at any price until furthr notice.

When you send pictures to the Club, would you please include with the pictures, preferably on the back, where your picture was taken, when and your name. If you would like your picture returned to you, send along with it a self-address stamped envelop and it will be sent back to you.

We at the Chronicle hop ethat you enjoy this BIG issue as much as we did bringing it to you.

Diane Warner
Editor

P.S. Sincere thanks go to Sandy Brown of Saginaw, Michigan for her suggestions on improving the Club.

"ON MY SIDE" Lead - John Cowsill

CHORUS:
You're finally on my side
You're finally on my time
You're finally on my side
After all the things you've tried

VERSE #1
Senseless waiting and debating
Makin up your mind
Need of knowing ways for growing
till the day you find
Undstand you have planned
And admitted in your sayin'
You'll ignore from before all the
Games that you were playin'

REPEAT CHORUS

VERSE #2
Into mornin sleepless nights
That kept your fear awake
Scolding, pointing, warning your against Your big mistake
Now at last sleeping child it
Has made your worry worth while
Now at last you can prove
Get a gold star for your next move.
