The Richard James Cowsill Memorial Tour
The Richard James Cowsill Memorial Tour is a series of celebrations of Richard's life around the country in places that meant the most to him. Celebrations were (or will be) held during 2014-2015 in Huntington Beach, California, next Long Island, New York, then Rio Rancho, New Mexico, then New Orleans, Louisiana and lastly in Newport, Rhode Island.

Leg 1 - Saturday, August 23, 2014, 2:00 pm at Bolsa Chica State Beach - 17851 Pacific Coast Highway, in Huntington Beach, California.
Susan (sister) wrote of the day: "A memorable day spent on the beach celebrating my brother Dickie' life.. He told me, about a month before he passed, that he was ok with it all ... That if he made it... Cool.. If he didn't, that was cool too ... He told me he was the happiest he had ever been in his life..he had his family.. ALL his family united .. Amends made and forgiveness running like one beautiful River collected from many streams .....That would be the River of Love... Yeah, nice job Rich..love you and I will see you,

Hello All!!
Tomorrow join us at the Kerry Irish Pub at 12:30 we will be gathering for " tour stop # 4" of my brother Richard Cowsills Jazz Funeral/second Line!
I know most of my local friends do not know this brother but he was a favorite of Barry's! So, if you don't have anything to do tomorrow, come on by and join us for a Mach to the river them the Krazy Korner!
If you let me know you can make it.. I'll buy you a triangle sandwich!!

A bench will be dedicated to Richard Cowsill in King's Park at the bottom of the Halidon Hall hill. Richard's bench will have a great view of the Newport Harbor.

The crowd assembled in King's Park at the base of Halidon Hall hill to say the final goodbye to Richard at 11:00 AM. The whole crowd sang "Knock, Knock, Knock On Heaven's Door" as a tribute. The final portion of ashes were scattered into the harbor. Richard's bench in King's Park was dedicated (it is side by side with Bill and Barry's bench). At 7 PM, the group assembled at O'Brien's Pub for the musical celebration for Richard.
