Hugh met the Cowsills in 1970 when they appeared on his TV show Playboy After Dark. Bob's first wife, Nanci, had been a Playboy bunny. Bob once commented how this was filmed before they were actually married, but set to air after, so they had to pretend they were married in the skit. In the skit Susan claimed she wanted to be "Miss February." The Cowsills sang "Where Is Love", "II x II", and "Poor Baby."
Hugh died in his home of natural causes at the age of 91.
