Several online pages/trees have my John Childers (abt 1795 - abt 1849) as "Marshall" John Childers, the son of Judge John Childers of Nashville. I, however, don't believe this as true. First the timing and position in location. My John was born in Georgia in 1795. This John Childress seems to have been in the Nashville area for some time.

But MUCH MORE than this, the following newspaper article seems to have the "Marshall" John Childress the one who died in 1819 where these trees have it as "Judge" John Childress. The obit reads"Yesterday morning, at his residence near Nashville, John Childress, Esq. Marshal of the district of West Tennessee.
