Susan

Susan's band included:
Susan Cowsill - Guitar and vocals
Russ Broussard - Drums and vocals
Mary Lasseigne - Bass and vocals
Sam Craft - Guitar, fiddle, vocals
Jack Craft - Guitar, cello, keyboards, vocals

The show started 30 minutes late and Susan tried to blame it on a cell phone that was an hour behind. Only joking. I know bands are notoriously late to start. They got the indoor stage this year. It's significantly smaller, so they sure filled it up. I didn't keep a set list, but it was mostly Lighthouse, Just Believe It, couple Drifters songs, and the sing-a-long "The Rain, The Park, and Other Things". The one song I'd never heard them do before was "Catch The Wind."

A couple of fun things. Susan says her band is working on "Hair" and "Indian Lake" so the sing-a-long may grow a bit. One fun story was Susan talking about being in Tulsa when it was evacuation time and her calling Russ to say "Pack me some things cuz I didn't bring much with me." What did Russ pack for Susan? A mini skirt, fish-net hose, and a guitar. I'd say the man knows what he likes! Also Susan got the crowd chuckling when she told them she was about to sing them a Christmas song.

The crowd was larger than last year and I enjoyed watching them watch. Which songs did they seem most into? "Mississippi" and "Avenue of the Indians", I'd say. The audience also really seemed to like Mary's song (Mary's current band is Mary Jane and the Brain Surgeons) and hearing a Glasgow song too. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed Mary's mic was a little off. I had a hard time understanding her words.

Sorry these pictures are blurry. I guess it was the zoom. Videos below.
