Cowsill Marathon II

Cowsill Marathon II was held in Newport, Rhode Island the weekend of September 25th - September 28th, 1998. The Howard Johnson's in Middletown was the place to be that weekend. This marathon had a two-fold purpose. First, getting together and celebrating each other and all things Cowsill. Secondly, to be honored guests at the wedding of Marilynn Manfra on the Narragansett Beach. The following were part of the party all or part of that weekend: Richard Cowsill, Susan Cowsill, Bryan Cowsill, Tracy Pierson, Carol Manfra, Sandy R., Toni Montella, Marilynn Manfra Dooley, Ken Dooley, Kathy McWhirt, Lynne Margosian, Carol Fritz, Mike Fritz, SallyAnn Amirante, Salia Lanoza, Suzanne Perdue, Lisa Cerulli and Becky Presley. This was the first year we had t-shirts made (see below). They were wonderfully designed by Jo Malone, although she was unable to be with us. We spent the weekend eating out, having a bachelor/bachelorette party, looking at memorabilia, doing the cliff walk (yes, John inspired me to make it clear to the Tea House), and visiting the sites of Newport. Richard was a wonderful host, showing us around town and pointing out places of Cowsill notoriety. He even took us up to Halidon Hall where we were chased away by the bikini lady wheeling a hose.

Yes, once again, I wrote a Top Ten List and here goes:

TOP TEN LESSONS LEARNED IN NEWPORT

10. One can get a hernia from lifting Lynne's "The Suitcase" and Sally really is O! Great LITTLE one.
9. Despite what he might tell you, Bryan really does need to remove a certain quarterback's picture from his bedroom wall.
8. The red sports car in the parking lot has been contained.
7. Suzanne's luck almost held true. (Thank You God that it didn't !!)
6. Take Kathy, add one As Is song, and --- well I won't go there.
5. Mike is a REAL man. He can look hot in a sweater and purse one night and destroy a Cling Wrap box the next night.
4. Some things you can drive straight to and some things you can't. (Hummm thought I had learned that one in LA last year hee hee)
3. The Cliff Walk lived up to it's billing as being breath taking, but some boulders are more steady than others.
2. We can still make Marilynn cry (Thanks Barry and Bob) and she can still make this cynical woman cry (wonderful wedding!!)

AND THE NUMBER ONE LESSON I LEARNED IN NEWPORT …..

Never be the last car in a caravan cuz you're the one most likely to end up in jail !!!

Now on to the pictures!!
