James and Jerusha (McGlawhon) Rose
William Rose was born in Virginia in about 1730. William Rose was deeded 400 acres of land in Brunswick County, Virginia, part of the land originally deeded to his father by his grandfather, William Rose. William's wife was named Frances at this time, and appears on the record with him in the sale of this land he had received by deed from his father in 1754. In 1763 they left Brunswick County and bought a tract of land in Surry County described as being on the south side of Johnchehawkins swamp. They moved to North Carolina in 1784. William was a planter.
