PRESTON, Ga. May 15 - Judge J. W. H. Hawkins, age 90, a Confedereate veteran, died at the residence of Mrs. Willie Carter Cole, at Preston, Tuesday night at midnight, following a long illness.

Mr. Hawkins is survived by one sister, Mrs. S. C. McCormick, of Flordia; one niece, Mrs. W. C. Cole, of Preston, one nephew, D. B. Hill, of Bronwood; one adopted son, H. E. Hawkins, of West Palm Beach, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the Cole residence, with the Rev. C. F. Starnes officiating. Pall bearers will be E. O. Hilsman, Jesse Drew, M.G. Hallman, Cleve Reese, George Reese, Col. Mit Walker, Bob Lowery and John Christian.
