Linda tells of her childhood, "One of, if not the most important, means of entertainment when we were growing up was going to the movies. Saturday afternoons were spent watching Dale Evans and Roy Rogers or Hoppalong Cassidy ride across the screen at least twice each afternoon. Mother loved to go to the movies too. I remember one winter night we had had an awful ice storm. It was much too bad out to drive a car but being the avid movie fans we were, Mother and I started walking to the movie. We talked as we walked along, and I looked around once to see my Mother sliding down the side of a small embankment and into the ditch!!!
It was the first time I had seen my hard working mother in such a ridiculous position! We had a good laugh and walked on to the movie."
"Our Dad probably graduated from high school seven times because of all the homework he helped us do, especially math. One night one of my sisters (I can't remember which) had to write a poem for a class the next day. She was moaning and groaning because she couldn't think of anything . Dad was in the room and said he knew one and this was it, 'Twas a dark and stormy night, I never shall forget it. My girlfriend sat beside me, and picked her nose and 'et it'. ' Don't know if she used it or not."
