My favorite story of a little Dorothy involved a lemon drop. The Hawkins girls weren't allowed to eat in-between meals. One day Dorothy ate a lemon drop and swallowed it whole. Thinking this was perhaps a sign, she put on her best pajamas and went to bed. When her sisters ask why she was in bed in the middle of the day, she told them what had happen and she was just sure she was going to die.
