Sylvia Ann Hawkins was born August 27, 1932, Fayette, Howard County, Missouri. She was married on April 2, 1953, at Hernando, Desoto County, Mississippi, to Robert R. Brown who was born August 12, 1931, in Forrest City, St. Francis County, Arkansas.

CHILDREN:
A. Robin Mark Brown, born October 18, 1954, in Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas, and died September 6, 1964 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. Mark had cancer.

B. Staci Alecia Brown, born March 1, 1967, in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. On July 25, 1987, Staci married Dereck Welborn, who was born April 2, 1967, in Collierville, Tennessee. They were divorced and secondly Staci married Gary Rial.

Inez Hawkins tells this story of Ann as a child. "One of the jobs Daddy worked on would give a 'bonus' at the end of the week of a bottle of whiskey. Being that whiskey wasn't part of our lives, Daddy told the man he could use an oil change for the car instead. One day the neighbor man came over and was quite intoxicated. It took me some time to convince him to go home and leave me and the girls alone. After he left Ann said, 'I think he should have got oiled instead.' "
