Ratcliff Boon Jr Will
The following is the will of Ratcliff Boon Jr. The spelling may not be accurate, but done as the original will.
In the Name of God, Amen I Radliff Boon of the County of
Isle of Wight County Being ever mindful of the Uncertainity
of this mortal State do make and Ordain this my last Will and
Testament. In Manner and form following. Item, I give and
bequeath Unto my Loving Wife, Patience Boon one Feather Bed
and Furniture, to her and her heirs forever. Item - I will
and Desire is that my Plantation and Still should be sold and
equally divided between my three Children, Viz.: William
Boone, Jesse Boon and Sion Boon, to them and their heirs
forever. Item, I Will and desire is that all my Negroes,
Viz, Learner, Kate, Fillice and her increase should be sold
and divided between my two children, Jesse Boon and Selah
Bradshaw, lacking Twenty Pounds, and that Twenty Pounds be
to my grandson Willis English but in case he should die
before he comes to lawful age it is my Will and desire that
the Twenty pounds should be equally divided between my two
grandsons, Radliff Boon and Joshua Boon, to them and their
heirs forever. Item, I Will and desire is that all the
Remainder of my Estate that is not Given away should be sold
and equally Divided Between My Wife, Patience Boon, William
Boon, Jesse Boon, Sion Boone, Selah Brandshaw and Mary
Helme's but it is my Will that Mary Helme's part should be
equally divided between all her children that is living. And
to Elizabeth Webb, No more of my Estate. Item, I do
Constitute, make and Ordain this to e my last Will and
Testament, discriminating and Revoking all Will or Wills,
Writing, Claims or Demands whatsoever. As Witness hereunto I
have set my Hand and Affixed my Seal this 25th day of March
179five.

I, Patience Boon, do agree to stand to the wish in Will of my
Husband, Never to fly from the same, after his death but
Renounce all Laws, or benefits in the Law concerning the same
To which I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of
March, 179five.

At a court held for Isle of Wight County the 4th day of Feb.
1799 This Will was presented in Court by Sion Boon and Robert
Ely, the executors therein named who made Oath thereto
According to Law and the same being proved by the Oaths of
William Ely and Robert Ely, two of the Witnesses thereto and
Ordered to be Recorded, and on the Motion of the said
Executor who together with Daniel Simmons his Security
entered to and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of five
thousand pounds with condition as the law directs.
Certificates is granted him for obtaining a Probate thereof
in due form.
