Gilley Boon Will

This is the will of Grizelle Yancy Crawford Hawkins Boon. The spelling may not be accurate, but done as original will.

Georgia Morgan County In the Name of God Amen. I Gilley Boon Being afflicted and looking at the uncertainity of life and the certainty of death and being now sound of mind for my satisfaction do ordain and make this my last will and testament.

Item 1st Such property as may be in my possession at the time of my death, which was willed my during my life with my last husband Sion Boon Dec and such additional property which was added to it by the consent of my children by him and for which a receipt is give to his Executor John Robson - all this of course and according to right will be distributed among my children by said Sion Boon, all of which it is my will shall pass regularly into the hand of said Executor John Robson if any income has taken place to said property it is my wish that it should all be dispend of to said children.

Item 2 I hereby appoint my son Alexander Hawkins my Executor and trust him to act according to the best judgement he may posses in managing my affairs. I give and bequeath unto him a Negro girl named Caroline and her child Auttin a boy to dispose of them according to his best judgement at public or private sale and the proceeds of said Negros to be equally divided amongst my other sons Alexander Hawkins Thomas Hawkins and William Hawkins children having my son Alexander Hawkins to act as trustee for said Thomas Hawkins and William Hawkins children I mean all his children at the time such distribution may take place. It is my will that my son Alexander Hawkins retain the proceeds as Sion named when in realized in his own proceeds as trustee and that he place the amount out of interest or pay interest himself on whatever sum may be left after paying all my debts and that he have the entire government use and payment out of the aforesaid Thomas Hawkins the children of William K Hawkins at such time and according as may seem to him proper as Trustee. I do not wish the small amount falling to each to be squandered away or taken to pay any debts they may entail but for the maintance and support of the aforementioned children what debts I may be owing at the time of my death I wish and request my son Alexander to discharge and pay taking the sum out of the proceeds of my property aforementioned.

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catherine T. Sutman a feather bed and furniture. To my son Alexander also a bed furniture to my son Thomas Hawkins a bed furniture this to be in charge and under the control of my son Alexander for him the same thereas Such articles of household furniture as may be my own and not in the receipt as aforemention, I will and bequeath to my son Alexander Hawkins for his own use and benefit.

All the above intentions are made before signing this which is now this 3rd day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two. As witness my hand Acknowledged therefore in this 6th March 1843
